I’m sure you have heard the news by now; FIFA is going to be hosting the first ever Soccer World Cup in South Africa this summer and the contenders are claiming to bring their A game to the landmark event. But the question on everybody’s mind around the continent is does any African team stand a chance of winning it all ? I would love to say yes, but as you all know is not that easy; I will let you ponder on that while we catch up with the ongoing African Nations Cup in Angola which i must say is full of surprises. There is really no little team in Africa anymore, Cameroon losing to Gabon, Malawi whipping Algeria and Nigeria being spanked by Egypt?. This is really unthinkable given the tenure of these nations when it comes to football in Africa. I almost thought i was being punked with all these shocking results. Speaking of shocking, did you hear the American football (NFL) number one draft pick this year might be from Africa ? I saw some folks on ESPN struggling with his name pronunciation Ndamukong Suh …… while some of the fans back home was still trying to figure if Nebraska is a state or the school he attended. Lets hope that by the beginning of the season they will all figure it out because i hear he’s a machine on the field and very exciting to watch…Is a lot more going on but i aint got all day even though i should say something about the NBA but aint nothing but guns being pulled in the locker room so i’m taking cover and waiting to see if the Yankees are going to have a repeat of their amazing season while MLB plays police in strking steroids out of baseball …..is it spring yet ?...
